Condition
Bowel Dysfunction
Bowel dysfunction is more common than many realise. It can include symptoms such as constipation, difficulty emptying the bowels, urgency, or loss of bowel control (faecal or flatal incontinence). These symptoms can feel distressing and isolating, but they are treatable with the right support.
Bowel health relies on a well-functioning pelvic floor, coordinated muscle control, and healthy habits. When these systems are disrupted—by pregnancy, delivery, or abdominal surgery—bowel issues may arise.
Our specialist physiotherapists will provide a safe, supportive space to explore these concerns without embarrassment. Through education, pelvic floor rehabilitation, dietary and toileting strategies, and lifestyle adjustments, we can work together to restore comfort, confidence, and bowel control.
